The Masked Singer season 12 Sports Night will feature the debut of the five Group B contestants. The Masked Singer season 12 welcomed back host Nick Cannon, along with panelists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora. The Group A contestants have already been narrowed down to their finalist, the Buffaloes, who bested their fellow Group A competitors--Paula Cole (Ship), Marsai Martin (Woodpecker), Yvette Nicole Brown (Showbird), and John Elway (Leaf Sheep)--to earn their spot in the quarterfinals.
The Masked Singer season 12 Group B premieres on Sports Night, which is one of the many theme nights for the season. Group A competed during Premiere Night, Footloose Night, and Soundtrack of My Life Night. In a September 2024 Instagram post, The Masked Singer introduced its season 12 Group B contestants via the answers to a crossworld puzzle. They are Chess Piece, Dust Bunny, Bluebell, Wasp, and Goo. In the comments section of the post, fans gushed about how creative and beautiful the Group B masks are. They truly are some of the most unique ideas in the history of the show.

These five Masked Singer Group B contestants will premiere on Sports Night. According to The Futon Critic, the Group B contestants' songs will be "Rock Your Body," "Believe," "We Belong," "Sweet Caroline" and "Lose Control." In addition, Robin and Rita will open the show with a performance of "Rock You Like A Hurricane" by the Scorpions, introduced by guest announcers Joel McHale and Nikki Glaser. Joel has been a Masked Singer guest panelist in the past, and was season 12 contestant Yvette Nicole Brown's Masked Ambassador when she performed as Showbird. Nikki competed in The Masked Singer season 8 as Snowstorm.

According to EW, The Masked Singer season 12 marks the first time that the mystery celebrity competition series is making connections between the contestants and their masks, with some clues sewn directly into the costumes. Executive producer and showrunner Rosie Seitchik explained that Dust Bunny is one costume that contains many clues, including a toy car, material from an ice dancing costume, a large, multicolored lollipop, an air freshener that hangs from a car's rearview mirror, and a container of popcorn.

Rosie shared that some of Dust Bunny's clues are even on the back of the costume. She explained that Dust Bunny has a real 360-degree view because a dust bunny rolls around and picks up objects, so the costume picked up clues to Dust Bunny's true identity. Rosie also shared that The Masked Singer will add and take away clues throughout the season in order to keep everybody on their toes. However, not every costume has as many clues sewn into it as Dust Bunny.
Rosie said that there's a variation to The Masked Singer season 12 costumes. Some of the costumes are larger clues to whom the contestants are based on the characters themselves. Others have more specific objects on them that are clues. Rosie explained that this was based on the designs of the costumes, and whether the design necessitated putting objects and props within them. Therefore, not every costume had the same treatment as Dust Bunny, but Dust Bunny was a design that called for it. Dust Bunny is an awesome costume who'll pull viewers in.

The Masked Singer season 12 contestant Goo is made of shiny green slime. He has big bright orange eyes and a black mouth. Goo wears a sleeveless yellow tuxedo with a yellow bowtie. In a preview of The Masked Singer season 12 Sports Night shared via The Singing Shortcake YouTube channel, Goo sang "Lose Control" by Teddy Swims. His voice is deep and powerful, and very impressive. There's never been a costume like Goo on The Masked Singer before, and he oozes star quality.
Based on the costumes, The Masked Singer Group B looks to be one of the most exciting ever. The previews of Wasp and Goo's performances show that they have just as much talent as the outstanding Group A contestants, who set the standard for the season. Group B will be followed by Group C, which includes Sherlock Hound, Royal Knight, Strawberry Shortcake, Ice King, and Macaron. The Masked Singer season 12 Group B debut on Sports Night is one of the most anticipated ever, and it's certain to be a thrilling ride.
